FinFur Animus is a Finnish furry convention held at the lakeside Hotelli Tallukka in Vääksy, by the historic Vääksy Canal. Organized by the furry association FinFur ry, it's an autumn con known for wrapping each year in a single overarching theme and a venue-wide adventure game.
FinFur Animus returns October 8-11, 2026 under the medieval theme "The Feast at Tailburg" (Häntälinnan pidot), inviting every species to the lord's table. This is the tenth Animus, and the convention says so on its own front page.
Registration opened on 20 July 2026, moved back from the 18th, and the early-bird window closed on 20 August. Tickets run 100 euro for the plain event ticket, 140 euro for Ritari and 190 euro for Aateli, with no day passes at any price. Neither a guest of honour nor this year's charity beneficiary has been named, which is unusual this close to the doors and is a measured gap rather than an oversight on our side: the site keeps a charity section in its own navigation and it names no recipient.
Animus leans hard into theme. Rather than a loose schedule of panels, it builds the whole weekend around one story, complete with a convention-wide adventure game played on your phone through QR codes hidden around the venue. The setting does a lot of the work too: a lakeside hotel by the Vääksy Canal, with sauna and pool access folded in, gives the con a relaxed Finnish-getaway feel. As a strictly 18+ event with a yearly animal-welfare charity, it's a tight-knit, theme-driven autumn gathering for adult attendees.

Every tier takes 10 euro off if you register by 20 August 2026, and the prices above are the FULL rates before that discount. There are NO day passes. The T-shirt can be bought separately for 15 euro and is already included in Ritari and Aateli; buy it with the ticket rather than at the door, since only a limited number are sold on site. An attendee holding an EU disability card with the A marking may bring one assistant, who enters free but does not thereby hold a registration, and the assistant's name must reach registration at least two weeks ahead. Hotel rooms are booked direct with Hotelli Tallukka using a code issued at registration, minimum three nights.
By air: The nearest major airport is Helsinki-Vantaa (HEL); Vääksy is roughly a two-hour drive north, via the Lahti area.
By car: Vääksy sits in Asikkala by the Vääksy Canal; Hotelli Tallukka is about 2 km from the village centre. Driving is the most direct way in.
By transit: Trains and coaches serve nearby Lahti, with onward regional bus connections toward Asikkala/Vääksy. Check the official site for any organized transport near the date.

The convention is hosted at Hotelli Tallukka itself, so on-site rooms are the natural choice and put you steps from programming, the sauna, and the lake. Rooms are booked directly with the hotel using a code issued at registration, with a three-night minimum.
Every room at Tallukka is booked. The convention posted this on its own front page on 15 August 2026, and says cancellations will be announced there and on its Telegram channel. If you are registering now, you need somewhere else to sleep. Caravan and motorhome parking is still available, and the code for a pitch comes from opening a registration ticket rather than from the hotel.
The venue itself is not fully settled. On 12 June 2026 the convention warned on its own front page that ownership of the Tallukka property may change before the event, and that if a new owner does not continue the contract with the company operating the hotel, this could affect Animus. The convention has promised to tell attendees of any change. It is worth reading that as a reason to keep travel bookings flexible rather than as a reason to stay away, but it is the convention's own caveat and not ours.
Otherwise the practical fallback is the surrounding Asikkala and Vääksy area, with Lahti about half an hour away by road and a far deeper pool of accommodation.
