RAWR Mini-Con is a small, all-ages furry convention run by Rebel Anthropomorphic Works and Recreation (RAWR), the furry club at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The 2026 edition, themed "Attack of the Kaiju!", runs Saturday October 24 and Sunday October 25, 2026 on the second floor of the UNLV Student Union. The club describes its aim as having all the trappings of a standard fur con, with panels, exhibitors and dances, at a size that is more accessible to the local community. You do not need to be a UNLV student, or even a furry, to come.
In 2026 doors open at 10:00 on Saturday, October 24, and opening ceremonies begin at 11:30. The programme fills two stages, two panel rooms and an exhibit hall, with music, dances, art and video games. The 2026 guest of honor is Buizilla, a Las Vegas artist and UNLV graphic design graduate known for macro-themed illustrations and comics. The exhibitor list mixes student exhibitors with community exhibitors such as MoonCurlCreations and Suits by Cedar. Food and non-alcoholic drinks are provided for attendees.
The organizer's tentative 2026 hours are:
The organizers publish the 2026 schedule as tentative and subject to change until the day of the event, so check the Schedule page on the official site before you go. The exhibit hall also holds an arcade and the con store.
The 2026 attendee badge costs $25 on Tixtree, with online sales set to end on October 23, 2026. At registration, staff scan the QR code from your order, check it against your ID, and ask every attendee to sign a liability waiver.
How much a refund returns depends on when you ask, and from October 1 onward it is 50% of the price. Any buyer can still get a full refund within one week of purchase by emailing the address on the Tixtree page.
Volunteers who work at least two three-hour shifts attend for free and get a special gift after the con. The volunteer and programming applications are linked from the Get Involved page, and the deadline for 2026 programming applications is October 19, 2026.
The UNLV Student Union is at 4505 S. Maryland Pkwy in Las Vegas, at the corner of Harmon Avenue and Maryland Parkway, and the Mini-Con uses its second floor. Harry Reid International Airport and the Las Vegas Strip are each under ten minutes away.
The BRT Red Line stops right outside: get off at the UNLV stop on Harmon. Campus parking is free on Saturday and Sunday, and guests can use the yellow Staff spaces or the green metered spaces without paying. Overflow parking is in the student lot across Del Mar. The organizers warn against parking in the nearby strip mall lots, which are known to tow.
Yes, the 2026 event is all ages. UNLV policy requires minors to be accompanied by an adult while they are on campus, so anyone under 18 needs an adult with them.
No. The organizers say everyone is welcome, whether you are a student, a local or not a furry at all. RAWR club membership is only for enrolled UNLV students, but the Mini-Con is open to the public.
No. RAWR is not formally associated with Southern Nevada Anthropomorphic Events, which runs Las Vegas Fur Con and Las Vegas Howlfest. Las Vegas Fur Con did begin as a project of current and former RAWR members. First-time con-goers can read the first con survival guide for what to bring.
The RAWR Mini-Con Telegram channel carries announcements, and the official chat is at t.me/RAWRMiniConOfficial. You can also email the club at [email protected].
