FurJAM is a long-running standalone furry social event in Sydney's Parramatta area. It is a weekend of socialising that deliberately avoids the convention format, with no panels or dealers. The 2026 edition runs October 23-25 and combines a Friday club night, Saturday BBQ and party, and Sunday bar gathering.
FurJAM spans a full weekend with three distinct events:
The 2026 weekend falls during Parramatta Lanes, a city-wide music and arts festival running in the evenings from October 21 to 24. FurJAM is not affiliated with it.
Registration is required for the organised weekend, and the organiser says night events do not accept payment at the door. Registration is sold through RegFox, linked from the official FurJAM registration page. For 2026 a BBQ Rego costs AUD 10 and covers the Saturday picnic only, and it is free for under-13s registered with a parent or legal guardian. A Standard Rego costs AUD 50 and covers every FurJAM event across the weekend. The Guest of Dishonour sponsor tier costs AUD 100 and adds priority serving, nicer food, a free shirt in a distinct colour and extra raffle tickets. Under-18s must come with a parent or appointed legal guardian. The public park itself remains open, but an unregistered visitor is not counted as part of FurJAM and cannot use the organised BBQ or change-room facilities.
Parramatta is in western Sydney, accessible by train from Sydney Central (30 minutes via T1 Western Line). Club Parramatta is at 2 Macquarie St. Parramatta Park is walkable from the station.
