Camp Pawprint is a 19+ furry camping weekend at Paul Lake Provincial Park, about 25 km northeast of Kamloops in British Columbia. The organizers are clear that it is not a traditional furry convention: it is a small, community-run weekend of tent camping, campfires, lake time and forest trails with other furries. Its debut weekend was September 25-27, 2026 at the park's group campsite, and the organizers say they are already planning 2027. Dates for 2027 have not been announced.
The 2026 weekend ran Friday to Sunday, and the organizers expect a similar shape next year. Check-in opened at 2 PM on Friday, followed by a welcome bonfire in the evening. Saturday was the main day, with an optional fursuit parade and a Midnight Howl. On Sunday campers packed up and had the site cleared by 10 AM.
The group campsite sits among ponderosa pines by the lake, with hiking trails nearby, and Paul Lake is open for fishing if you hold a valid BC freshwater fishing licence. Kayaks, canoes and paddleboards are generally fine on the lake, but motorised boats face BC Parks restrictions, so check the park rules before you bring one.
Fursuiters, partial suiters and non-suiters are all welcome, and you do not need to be a furry to come as long as you are comfortable in a furry space. Keep your suit well away from the campfire, because artificial fur burns easily and radiant heat can damage a suit without touching it.
It is tent camping only. There are no cabins, rentals or RV hookups, so bring your own tent, sleeping gear, food and drinking water. The site has non-potable hand pump water for cleaning and cooking, and the organizers bring a Starlink dish for shared WiFi. Power is very limited and reserved for essentials such as medical devices and emergency phone charging, so pack a large battery bank.
Alcohol is allowed for adults who drink responsibly. Cannabis is not allowed in any form, including edibles, and illegal drugs mean immediate removal without a refund. Public areas stay SFW, with no NSFW displays, signage or suit markings, because other park visitors share the area.
Registration for 2027 has not opened. The organizers say it will open once dates are confirmed, and that 2026 attendees will hear first by email. When it opens, you create an account on the register page, get a badge number straight away and pay the fee by card to confirm your spot. Places are first come, first served, with a waitlist once the camp is full.
For 2026 the fee was $28 CAD per attendee, covering the group campsite rental and basic running costs. Travel, food and camping gear were not included, and merch was a separate pre-order handed out at camp. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, except that the organizers refund it in full if they cancel the camp, for example because of a wildfire closure.
Watch the official Camp Pawprint site for the 2027 dates, or use its contact form for questions.
Camp Pawprint used the group campsite at Paul Lake Provincial Park in 2026, and the organizers will confirm the 2027 location along with the dates. Two campsites at Paul Lake share the same name and are reached by different routes, so do not rely on GPS alone. The organizers give the correct site as 50°44'07.7"N 120°09'38.3"W, and BC Parks notes that the group campsite is at the opposite end of the lake from the main campground. The organizers' campsite map shows the entrance off Paul Lake Road, with outhouses, a covered area and a fire pit on the site. The site is about 25 km from Kamloops city centre on paved roads.
There is no transit to the park and parking is limited, so the organizers strongly recommend carpooling, which registered campers arrange in the attendee Telegram group. Kamloops Airport (YKA) is the nearest airport, with connections to Vancouver and Calgary. Do your food shopping in Kamloops before you arrive, because the nearest grocery stores are about 25 minutes away.
The camp takes place in British Columbia, where the age of majority is 19. Everyone must be 19 or older on the first day of the event, and government-issued photo ID is checked at check-in with no exceptions, including for visitors from places where the legal age is 18.
No. All food is bring-your-own, so plan for Friday dinner through Sunday lunch, bring a cooler with ice for perishables, and store food securely overnight because of wildlife. Camp stoves are welcome, and there is a group fire pit for campfire cooking when fire rules allow.
The date has not been announced. The organizers say 2027 dates will be announced as soon as they are confirmed, and the location will be confirmed at the same time.
Bring a freestanding tent, a sleeping bag for nights that can drop to about 5°C in late September, a sleeping pad, warm layers, rain gear, all your food and drinking water, a headlamp and a portable battery pack. The organizers also publish an interactive packing list.
