BicK (Beast in center of Kyushu) is a one-day fursuit gathering in Kumamoto, run by the BicK Organizing Committee since its first edition in 2014. According to the committee, the name expresses its aim of spreading fursuit culture with Kyushu at its centre. The main event, called the honsai, takes place once a year, and the team also runs occasional smaller meets numbered with a ".5".
The 12th edition will not take place in 2026. In a notice posted on December 28, 2025, the organizers said the venue they planned to use will be under renovation at that time, so BicK12 has been postponed to 2027. No 2027 date or venue has been announced yet.
BicK10 and BicK11 both ran from 10:30 to 18:00 at Kumamoto Civic Hall, and BicK11 used the hall's Large Conference Room. Each edition has a theme and its own programme. BicK10's theme was "Restart", with a beginner course on how to interact with fursuiters, a group photo shot in three patterns and a runway where characters could introduce themselves. BicK11 took a Japanese-style theme, "Wa", and held a themed opening ceremony, a puzzle hunt played through LINE and a first outdoor photo session around the Josaien complex near the hall.
Registration has two categories, fursuit participant and general participant, so you can attend without a suit. The changing room is for fursuit participants only, although each one may bring one general participant of the same sex as a helper. A headless space inside the hall gives suiters a short break.
The organizer's rules ask you to get consent before photographing anyone, and they ban photos in the changing room and headless space, live streaming from the building, alcohol and smoking. The hall is not closed to the public during BicK, so keep corridors clear and be considerate of other visitors. Wear your badge where staff can see it at all times, including while in suit.
Registration is in advance only, and there is no on-the-day registration. For BicK11 the organizer opened places in three rounds between February and June 2025 and sold them through EventPay, with card, convenience store and Pay-easy payment. The BicK12 registration page on the official site is still under construction, and the 2027 price has not been published.
The organizers post updates on the official site and on their X notice account. If this will be your first furry gathering, our first-con survival guide covers what to bring and basic etiquette.
BicK10 and BicK11 were held at Kumamoto Civic Hall (市民会館シアーズホーム夢ホール), 〒860-0805 熊本県熊本市中央区桜町1-3. BicK12's venue is still unannounced, so check the official site before booking travel.
According to the venue operator, the hall is a five-minute walk from Kumamoto Sakuramachi Bus Terminal and from Kumamoto City Hall. From JR Kumamoto Station it takes about 10 minutes by taxi, about 15 minutes by bus to Sakuramachi Bus Terminal, or about 15 minutes by city tram to the Hanabatacho stop. The airport bus from Kumamoto Airport reaches Sakuramachi Bus Terminal in about 50 minutes. The hall only provides parking to organizers of main-hall events, so plan on public transport; there is a bicycle park for about 30 bikes.
No. The organizers postponed BicK12 because the venue they planned to use will be under renovation in 2026, and they say the next edition will be in 2027. The date and venue have not been announced yet.
