Mid-convention, an attendee reportedly flew a drone too close to Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), drawing a DHS response. Per community reports surfaced on FurryTMZ on April 3, an attendee with knowledge of the situation said the drone "FLEW THE DRONE OVER THE FUCKING AIRPORT PERIMETER and caused THE ENTIRE AIRPORT TO BE SHUT DOWN for basically 2 hours." As of writing, no official LVFC statement linked the convention to the operator, drone-around-airport violations involve federal investigation paths separate from the convention's own jurisdiction.
The convention is a short distance from Harry Reid International (Alexis Park sits on E Harmon Ave, roughly 2 miles from the airport perimeter at its closest), which puts most casual drone flights from the resort within the airport's no-fly zone by default.
