The Sunflower Furs Fall Ball is a free furry dinner and dance held each November at the Heritage Center in Leavenworth, Kansas. Sunflower Furs, a Kansas furry group, runs it alongside a spring meet and a summer barbecue each year. In September 2026 the group became Sunflower Furs by Paws & Prairies, and the 2026 edition is presented with the team behind the new Paws & Prairies convention in Overland Park. The 3rd annual Fall Ball, themed "Disco Down to Fluffy Town", is on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 3pm to 8pm.
The Fall Ball is an afternoon and evening party rather than a late club night. The organizers' 2026 schedule opens the main hall at 3pm for food and mingling, then holds a group photo at 5pm and a raffle at 6pm. DJ sets run in a second room: Stitcharoo from 3:30pm to 5pm and Dubbywubby from 6:30pm to 8pm.
Food is a shared buffet. Earlier editions served turkey dinners, and attendees who want to bring a dish coordinate through a separate Telegram food chat the organizers announce before the event. Fursuits are welcome, and the 2025 edition counted 46 fursuiters. The 2024 edition was announced as a family-friendly event where minors would be present, and both earlier editions banned alcohol and drugs on the premises, including the parking lot.
Sponsor tie-dye shirts with sponsors' names on the back are sold through Zeffy before the event and picked up at the door. In 2026 the shirt money goes to the Paws & Prairies convention.
Admission is free, but you need a ticket from the organizers' Eventbrite listing, and entry is by the QR code in your ticket email. The 2026 edition is capped at 200 people, the largest Sunflower Furs event so far. Tickets opened on September 16, 2026 and the Eventbrite listing showed the event as sold out when we checked on October 29, 2026. The organizers have warned that they sell tickets only through Eventbrite, so do not buy a resold ticket from anyone else.
Ticket releases are announced on the Sunflower Furs Telegram channel and the Paws & Prairies Bluesky. The 2025 tickets went live in mid-August and ran out in about two hours, so watch those channels from late summer.
The Heritage Center is at 109 Delaware Street, Leavenworth, KS 66048. The front entrance faces north onto Delaware Street. A large free parking lot sits in front, with more parking behind the building. They also point out-of-town guests to the Home2 Suites hotel beside the parking lot.
Yes, but it is a separate event. The Fall Ball is a Sunflower Furs event, and Sunflower Furs joined the Paws & Prairies team in September 2026. The convention itself is a different event, planned for April 30 to May 2, 2027 in Overland Park, with its own registration.
