OKIKEMO!

OKIKEMO! (おきけも！) is a yearly fursuit gathering in Chatan, Okinawa, where suiters spend a day taking photos around the seaside shops and streets of Mihama American Village. Its official account calls it the event that closes the summer for the kemono community, and recent editions have been held in early October.

There will be no OKIKEMO! in 2026. On December 29, 2025, the official account announced that the event is taking 2026 off and that the staff plan to come back stronger than before. The next date has not been announced.

What to Expect

OKIKEMO! is a day of free-roaming fursuit activity rather than a stage programme. Inside the suit-friendly area that the organizers mark on a map, you can walk and take photos in suit all day. In 2024 and 2025 the base was LIVE HOUSE MOD'S at Depot Island, which served as the reception desk and as a changing and rest space with a headless area from 8:00 to 18:00. In 2025 MOD'S also opened on the Friday evening before the event as a photo space and lounge for registered participants. An optional OKIKEMO! BBQ, with its own sign-up, usually follows in the evening.

The participation rules are short. Only kemono-style fursuits are covered, so other cosplay is out of scope. Go outside in suit in groups of at least two, ideally with an attendant, and take breaks if the heat gets to you. Excessive skin exposure and strongly sexual expression are banned, as are replica weapons, and you may not enter a shop in suit without the shop's permission. American Village stays open to the public throughout, so give other visitors room.

How to Get Tickets

Each edition opens registration on a TwiPla page posted by the official account, and you sign up by agreeing to the participation rules linked there. The 2024 and 2025 editions cost 3,000 yen, and the 2025 edition was capped at 250 participants. You pay on the day in cash: put the exact fee in an envelope marked with the handle you registered on TwiPla and hand it in at the reception desk at MOD'S, because no change is given.

How to Get There

OKIKEMO! takes place in Mihama American Village, Chatan, and its base is LIVE HOUSE MOD'S at Depot Island, 沖縄県中頭郡北谷町美浜9-1. The organizers warned in 2022 that rental cars in Okinawa can be hard to get and suggested booking early.

Many participants stay inside American Village. Vessel Hotel Campana Okinawa and レクー沖縄北谷スパ＆リゾート (Lequ Okinawa Chatan Spa & Resort) have allowed participants to move through the hotel in suit between their room and the street. Long stays in the hotel outside your room and excessive contact with other guests are not allowed, and the organizers ask you to check the rules with any other hotel yourself.

Can I change into my fursuit at the event?

Yes, at recent editions. In 2024 and 2025 participants could change at LIVE HOUSE MOD'S from 8:00 to 18:00, or in their own hotel room. Taking photos inside the changing space is not allowed.

Do I pay for OKIKEMO! online?

No. The fee for the 2024 and 2025 editions was paid in cash on the day, in an envelope with your TwiPla handle, at the reception desk at MOD'S.

Is OKIKEMO! 18+?

The organizers' participation rules for 2024 and 2025 do not state an age limit. If age matters for your plans, ask the official account before registering.
