Furries on Water

Furries on Water is a yearly canoe trip for furries on a Czech river, with nights in riverside campsites along the way. The trip lasts about a week, and the organizer picks the river each year: the Otava in 2023, the Sázava in 2024 and 2026, and the Ohře in 2025. The 2027 trip has not been announced yet.

What to Expect

The crew paddles a stretch of river each day and spends the nights at campsites on the bank. The organizer publishes a daily plan before the trip with each stage, the campsite, its prices and its facilities, such as showers or a fire pit. Boats and crews are planned together before the trip, and the group often orders matching trip shirts. The 2025 route covered 93 km of the Ohře, with 24 weirs on the way.

How to Get Tickets

There is no ticket. You register through a form linked in the Furries on Water Telegram channel, usually in late winter or spring, so that the organizer can book boats and campsites. The daily plan lists each campsite's fees, and in 2024 the boat hire came to 1,200 CZK per person.

How to Get There

The start and finish change every year. In 2026 the trip started in Zruč nad Sázavou and ended in Zlenice, after low water moved the planned start from Stvořidla. Check the daily plan in the channel for the meeting point of the next trip.
