Arch City Furs is a St. Louis furry group that runs public meets built around getting around the city on foot and by transit. Its regular events are fursuit walks downtown, group rides on the MetroLink, riverboat cruises past the Gateway Arch and arcade nights, plus one-off takeovers of museums and cinemas. The group started in fall 2025 as the STL Furbanists and meets roughly once a month. A fursuit parade from Kiener Plaza to the Arch and back is scheduled for 2pm on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
The STL Fur Walk is a fursuit parade around photogenic parts of the city, usually starting at Kiener Plaza and heading to the Gateway Arch. The STL Fur Ride is a group trip on public transit, often from Richmond Heights station to Union Station or the Arch. The Gateway Fur Cruise boards one of the public riverboat sightseeing cruises from the Arch riverfront, and Bark-cade nights meet at local arcades such as Up-Down in the Central West End.
Fursuits are welcome at every meet but never required. That parade is timed for the Saturday of Gateway FurMeet, starting at Kiener Plaza across from the convention hotel right after the con's fursuit menagerie. It is Arch City Furs' own event, not part of the convention's programme, so anyone can join whether or not they have a con badge.
Walks and rides are free. For a cruise, a museum visit or a film you buy your own ticket from the venue, and the group's announcement says where. Some Bark-cade nights are 21+ and others are all-ages, so check each announcement.
Dates are posted on the Arch City Furs Bluesky, and meeting points, schedules and last-minute changes go to the Telegram group. For some meets the organizers ask for an RSVP in the chat, which is preferred but not required.
Kiener Plaza is a downtown park across from the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark, and it is where most fur walks start before heading to the Gateway Arch. The group picks transit-friendly meeting points on purpose, so most meets are an easy MetroLink or bus trip, and the organizers post route or transit maps before some events. For Fur Rides, the usual meeting point is the Richmond Heights MetroLink station.
A fursuit parade is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2026, gathering at Kiener Plaza at 2pm and walking to the Gateway Arch and back. Later dates are posted on the group's Bluesky and Telegram.
No. Arch City Furs runs it during the convention weekend, but the organizers say it is not a con-hosted event, and you do not need a convention badge to join.
No. Fursuits are welcome but not required at any Arch City Furs meet.
Walks and transit rides are free apart from your own transit fare. Cruises, museum visits and cinema trips need a ticket from the venue.
