NeonSlushie is the working name of Nico, a Michigan illustrator who creates colorful animal art, original characters, and fursuit reference sheets. Their official biography says they have worked freelance since 2009 and have produced more than a thousand reference sheets for the community.
Work and access
A reference sheet documents an existing character clearly enough for a fursuit maker or another artist to use. Character design is a separate service for developing a new character. Start with the official site's How to Order and Examples & Prices pages so you choose the right service and see the current process.
NeonSlushie also sells prints, stickers, apparel, and digital bases through the official shop and Etsy. The official homepage said Commissions Are Open and accepted wait-list and rush inquiries when checked on 27 July 2026. Use the site's queue and newsletter for live availability because that status can change quickly.
Safety and socials
NeonSlushie's terms retain copyright in the artwork and restrict copying, tracing, recoloring, and redistribution. A commissioned reference is not a fursuit, and commissioners should only submit characters they have the right to use.
The official site links to Bluesky, Instagram, X, DeviantArt, and Telegram, and those accounts are reproduced above so similarly named ones are easier to avoid. Telegram is the exception worth knowing: two accounts are genuine, the artist's own account listed above and a separate NeonSlushieArt channel the official site points to for commission-opening announcements.
